Job Description CSR Fund Raising & Strategic Partnerships
Location: Mumbai
Role Purpose
We are looking for a senior, high-impact leader to head CSR Fund Raising and Strategic Partnerships for our NGO. This role is purely revenue and relationship driven, focused on mobilizing CSR funds and grants from Government bodies, PSUs, Corporates, and Institutional donors.
The role demands a strong sales mindset, deep understanding of the CSR funding ecosystem, and proven capability to build, pitch, negotiate, and close large CSR and grant partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesCSR Fund Raising & Revenue Generation
- Lead end-to-end CSR fund-raising strategy with clear annual and long-term revenue targets
- Identify, approach, pitch, and close CSR funding from:
- Central & State Government departments
- Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)
- Corporate CSR foundations
- Government schemes, grants, and institutional donors
- Develop compelling CSR proposals, impact decks, and funding pitches aligned to donor priorities
Government & PSU Liaison
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officials across Ministries, State Departments, PSUs, and autonomous bodies
- Track government tenders, CSR allocations, grant announcements, and funding opportunities
- Lead negotiations, MoUs, and long-term funding agreements with government and PSU stakeholders
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
- Create long-term strategic CSR partnerships rather than one-time donations
- Position the NGO as a credible, scalable, and high-impact implementation partner
- Collaborate with corporates, CSR committees, and funding agencies to design funded programs
Sales Leadership & Pipeline Management
- Own and manage a robust CSR sales pipeline with forecasting, conversion ratios, and closure timelines
- Set targets, track performance, and ensure consistent fund inflow
- Build and lead a CSR fund-raising / BD team with strong sales discipline
Proposal, Pitch & Negotiation Excellence
- Oversee development of proposals, budgets, presentations, and impact narratives
- Lead high-level negotiations on funding size, scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Close high-value, multi-year CSR and grant deals
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with program and operations teams to ensure proposals are realistic, fundable, and scalable
- Ensure donor requirements are clearly communicated to execution teams (without owning operations)
Donor Engagement & Retention
- Maintain strong donor relationships through impact reporting, reviews, and regular engagement
- Drive repeat funding, renewals, and account growth
Candidate Profile
- 1015+ years of experience in CSR fund-raising, government liaison, institutional sales, or strategic partnerships
- Proven track record of raising large CSR / grant funds from Government bodies, PSUs, or Corporates
- Strong exposure to government systems, tendering, CSR allocations, and funding cycles
- Sales-oriented mindset with ability to pitch, negotiate, and close deals
- Existing network with Government officials, PSU leadership, CSR heads, or funding agencies is a strong advantage
- Experience handling high-value funding targets (multi-crore annually)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder and decision-maker level
