About The Role
As a Crop Manager at Godrej Agrovet, you will drive crop strategies to strengthen product positioning and brand differentiation. Lead new product launches and manage the complete product life cycle to ensure market competitiveness and growth. Enable and support the sales team with technical expertise, training, and market intelligence for effective execution.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Crop Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop and execute crop-wise strategies for key crops.
- Identify growth opportunities across geographies, seasons, and crop stages.
- Build annual demand forecasts and align with sales targets.
- Product Positioning & Portfolio Management
- Position herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and PGR/PN effectively in crop programs.
- Develop crop stage-wise spray schedules.
- Identify portfolio gaps and support new product development.
- Lead New Product launches and product life cycle management.
- Technical Support & Market Development
- Provide strong agronomic guidance to sales teams, channel partners, and farmers.
- Conduct field visits, crop diagnostics, and problem-solving.
- Monitor Demonstration trials in collaboration with NPD team and generate data-backed recommendations.
- Training & Capability Building
- Train frontline sales teams on crop practices, pest/disease identification, and product usage.
- Develop training modules, crop guides, and technical literature.
- Support Sales and field marketing team for dealer and farmer meetings, field days, and campaigns.
- Marketing & Campaign Execution
- Collaborate with field marketing team to design crop-focused campaigns.
- Create product value propositions tailored to given crops/segment.
- Support branding, positioning, communication, and promotional material development.
- Market Intelligence & Insights
- Track competitor products, pricing, and strategies in crop segments.
- Gather farmer insights, crop trends, and pest incidence data.
- Recommend actionable inputs for business growth.
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Sales, R&D, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure timely product availability aligned with crop cycles.
- Collaborate with NPD team to identify new segments in crops.
