Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Cricket Commentator based in Janakpuri. The Cricket Commentator will provide live, ball-by-ball commentary for domestic and international matches, capturing key moments, strategies, and turning points in clear, engaging language. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing match notes and research on teams, players, and conditions, coordinating with producers and technical staff, and ensuring commentary is accurate, timely, and aligned with Criclive.in's editorial standards. The role also involves post-match analysis, occasional written summaries or insights, and participation in fan engagement segments such as Q&A or panel discussions. The commentator will be expected to collaborate closely with the editorial team to maintain consistent tone, quality, and reliability across all live coverage.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of cricket laws, formats (Test, ODI, T20), tactics, and current global and domestic cricket trends.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with clear diction, engaging delivery, and the ability to describe fast-moving action in real time.
• Experience in live commentary, sports broadcasting, or hosting sports-related shows, or strong demonstrable potential in these areas.
• Ability to research teams, players, statistics, and match conditions quickly and accurately, and to use this information during commentary.
• Comfort working on-site in a studio or live environment, coordinating with production teams, and adapting to changing match situations.
• Strong time management and focus, including the capacity to maintain energy and consistency over long matches and series.
• Basic familiarity with digital platforms, streaming environments, and social media to support fan engagement and interactive segments.
• Proficiency in English commentary; additional language skills related to major cricket audiences are an advantage.
• Prior experience in sports journalism, media, or related fields is beneficial, though candidates with deep cricket knowledge and strong communication skills are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in line with the global cricket calendar.
