Reporting Manager: Head of Department / Co-ordinator
Primary Purpose: The Cricket Coach is responsible for training students in cricket techniques, improving their physical fitness, and preparing school teams for inter-school competitions. The coach promotes discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship while ensuring students safety during practice and matches.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Training
- Teach fundamental and advanced cricket skills such as batting, bowling, fielding, and wicketkeeping.
- Plan and conduct regular practice sessions for students.
- Assess students performance and provide individual feedback.
Team Development
- Select and train school cricket teams for tournaments and competitions.
- Develop strategies and match plans.
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, and leadership among students.
Fitness & Conditioning
- Conduct warm-up, fitness, and conditioning drills.
- Improve players stamina, agility, and strength.
- Ensure injury prevention and safe training practices.
Match & Tournament Management
- Organize practice matches and inter-house competitions.
- Prepare teams for inter-school tournaments.
- Supervise and guide students during matches.
Student Development
- Motivate students to participate in sports and maintain sportsmanship.
- Identify talented players and help them progress to higher-level competitions.
- Encourage balanced development of academics and sports.
Equipment & Facilities
- Maintain cricket equipment such as bats, balls, pads, and nets.
- Ensure practice grounds are safe and properly prepared.
Administration
- Maintain records of attendance, performance, and training plans.
- Coordinate with school management and sports department.
- Communicate with parents regarding students progress when required.
