Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective credit risk management framework for early identification, assessment, management, monitoring, and reporting of credit risks
- Ensure customer and conduct outcomes align with lending and credit policies through oversight and challenge of first line processes and controls
- Support compliance with all relevant organisational, credit, and business policies by creating and monitoring a robust suite of assurance measures
- Review credit policies in line with organisational, legislative, and regulatory requirements
- Provide assurance to senior management that control-based activities comply with standards and that all risks are reported and authorised
- Manage relationships between the function and bank-wide credit risk teams, as well as other policy framework standard owners
- Deliver business-as-usual and project objectives in line with milestones and terms of reference, effectively managing colleagues and resources
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience and understanding of credit risk management principles, processes, and regulatory requirements
- In-depth knowledge of regulations applicable to mortgages and consumer credit
- Proven experience working effectively with management and teams across an organisation
- Knowledge of risk management and control processes relevant to a financial services environment
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills
