Job Summary:**
The Credit Manager - LAP will be responsible for managing the credit assessment and underwriting process for Loan Against Property (LAP) applications, ensuring adherence to credit policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory guidelines. This role involves evaluating creditworthiness, mitigating risks, and contributing to the healthy growth of the LAP portfolio for Kisetsu Saison Finance (India) Private Limited.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Lead the credit underwriting and appraisal process for Loan Against Property (LAP) applications, including detailed financial analysis, property valuation assessment, and borrower profile evaluation.
- Ensure all credit decisions are compliant with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and established risk parameters.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on applicants, including verifying income, employment, credit history, and property documents.
- Manage and mentor a team of credit officers, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality credit assessments.
- Develop and implement robust credit risk mitigation strategies specific to the LAP portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and legal teams to streamline the loan processing workflow and address any discrepancies.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and recommend proactive measures to manage delinquencies and non-performing assets.
- Prepare detailed credit appraisal reports and present recommendations to senior management or credit committees.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes impacting the LAP segment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit policies, procedures, and systems.
Job Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CA, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in credit underwriting and risk management, specifically within the Loan Against Property (LAP) segment in a financial services institution.
- Proven track record of managing a credit portfolio and making sound credit decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, credit appraisal techniques, property valuation methodologies, and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks for LAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
- Proficiency in credit risk management software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
