Our Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and Technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.

The Refunds Executive is responsible for analyzing payment discrepancies, identifying overpayments, and processing refund requests for insurance carriers and patients. The role ensures compliance with payer guidelines, minimizes financial leakage, and supports clean financial reconciliation within the RCM process.
Key Responsibilities
- Refund Processing
- Review credit balances and validate reasons for overpayment.
- Process refunds for insurance and patient accounts per payer and client policies.
- Prepare and submit refund request forms to Finance for disbursement.
- Credit Balance Analysis
- Investigate credit balances generated from incorrect payments, duplicate payments, or posting errors.
- Coordinate with Cash Posting teams to correct mis-postings before issuing refunds.
- Validate payer takebacks, offsets, and recoupments.
- Compliance & Audit
- Ensure refund processing complies with payer regulations, state guidelines, and internal audit standards.
- Maintain complete documentation for all refunded transactions.
- Reduce compliance risk by preventing untimely or inaccurate refunds.
- Coordination with AR & Cash Posting
- Collaborate with AR team to validate open balances before refund initiation.
- Work with Cash Applications to rectify incorrect payments or adjustments.
- Communicate with Client POCs regarding approval of refund amounts.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily/weekly reports of refunds initiated, completed, and pending.
- Track recoveries, offsets, and payer requests.
- Highlight high-value refund cases or trends to leadership.
- Research & Resolution
- Contact payers (if required) to verify overpayments or recoupment notices.
- Resolve discrepancies related to claim-level payments, duplicate deposits, or coding/billing errors causing refunds.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–4 years of experience in US Healthcare RCM – Refunds, Credit Balance, AR, or Cash Posting.
- Strong understanding of EOBs, ERAs, overpayments, deductible/co-insurance rules, and payer refund processes.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliation sheets).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
