Job Description

Role overviewThe Country Head will serve as the primary interface with ENDE and Owner's Engineer teams, ensuring seamless coordination, execution, and delivery of projects. The incumbent will represent the company in all key meetings, oversee project progress, and proactively resolve execution-related challenges. Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa and fluency in Portuguese will be a strong advantage.Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Pre-Bid Support

. Support pre-bid activities, including tender evaluation and query resolution

. Build and strengthen client relationships

. Engage with stakeholders to identify business opportunities2. Stakeholder & Government Coordination

. Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory bodies

. Act as the key representative of the company in all external interactions

. Maintain strong relationships with utilities, especially ENDE and Owner's Engineer3. Project Execution & Operations

. Oversee execution of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) network projects

. Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards

. Interpret project designs and supervise execution of electrical and civil works

. Manage activities related to standardization of supply systems, meter installation, and network expansion4. Planning & Resource Management

. Develop detailed project schedules and identify critical paths

. Allocate technical and human resources efficiently

. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment5. Technical Oversight

. Apply in-depth knowledge of live network operations and energized line work

. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory electrical clearances

. Supervise construction and commissioning of distribution networks6. Materials & Supply Chain Management

. Manage procurement and utilization of materials for civil and electrical works

. Ensure availability and quality of project resources7. Safety & Compliance

. Ensure adherence to all safety standards and electrical regulations

. Promote a strong safety culture across project sites

. Monitor compliance with statutory and operational guidelines8. Team Leadership & People Management

. Lead and manage multi-cultural teams across locations

. Foster collaboration, motivation, and high performance

Drive strong interpersonal relationships and team engagement

The Successful Applicant

A successful Country Head - ANGOLA should have:

Qualifications & Experience. Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering

. Post-graduation in Project Management / Planning / Engineering / Administration (preferred)

. Minimum 20 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution projects

. At least 10 years of experience in distribution network implementation

. Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa preferred

. Fluency in Portuguese is desirable (translator support acceptable)Key Skills & Competencies. Strong knowledge of power distribution systems (11kV / 22kV / 33kV and LT networks)

. Familiarity with utility standards, electrical regulations, and safety norms

. Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office

. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

. Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multi-site operations

. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

. Result-oriented with high accountability

. Strong leadership and team management skills

. Excellent coordination and negotiation abilities

. Adaptability to diverse and challenging environments

. Willingness to travel extensively across project locations

. Experience in schemes such as RDSS / DDUGJY / IPDS or similar international programs

. Exposure to smart metering, feeder automation, SCADA systems, or underground cabling

. PMP or equivalent project management certificationWork environment. This position may require occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and conferences,

. Ability to work in both office and field environments
