Role Overview
The Country Finance Manager – UHM India will lead the finance function for UHM India, ensuring strong financial governance, compliance, reporting accuracy and commercial support to the business.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for setting up financial structures, overseeing property-level finance teams, ensuring statutory compliance in India, and partnering closely with operations to drive profitability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead financial strategy and planning for UHM India.
- Act as a key business partner to the Country Head and General Managers.
- Provide commercial insights to support growth and expansion initiatives.
- Support integration of new properties and acquisitions.
2. Financial Reporting & Controls
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Implement strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
- Oversee consolidation of property-level financials.
- Ensure compliance with UHM global reporting standards.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budget and recommend corrective actions.
- Support long-term financial planning and capital expenditure analysis.
4. Compliance & Statutory Governance
- Ensure compliance with Indian financial regulations, taxation, GST, TDS, and corporate laws.
- Oversee statutory audits and liaise with external auditors and consultants.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements across states of operation.
5. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow planning and working capital optimization.
- Oversee banking relationships and financial risk management.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and cost control measures.
6. Payroll & Financial Coordination
- Partner with HR to ensure payroll accuracy and statutory contributions.
- Ensure alignment between employment contracts and financial payouts.
- Maintain strict financial discipline and transparency.
7. Team Leadership & Systems
- Build and lead the finance team across corporate and properties.
- Implement financial systems, policies, and SOPs.
- Drive automation, reporting dashboards, and financial analytics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent finance qualification preferred.
- 10 –12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Hospitality or multi-unit business experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indian taxation, statutory compliance and financial regulations.
- Experience in setting up finance functions in a growing or expanding organization is an advantage.
