Counselor

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Counselor role based at IRS Group's Kottayam location. The Counselor will guide prospective and current learners through course options, exam pathways, and study plans, helping them choose programs aligned with their goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting consultations, providing information on test prep and language courses, assisting with admissions and enrollment procedures, and maintaining accurate learner records. The role also involves following up with inquiries, supporting learners with basic academic and motivational counseling, and collaborating with faculty and administrative teams to ensure a positive learner experience. The Counselor is expected to uphold professional conduct, maintain confidentiality, and promote IRS Group's values in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Strong counseling and guidance skills, including the ability to understand learner goals and recommend suitable courses and exam pathways.
• Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with learners, families, and internal teams.
• Organizational and administrative abilities to manage appointments, documentation, and follow-ups efficiently.
• Customer service and relationship-management skills to handle inquiries, address concerns, and support learner engagement.
• Basic understanding or willingness to learn about major exams and language programs such as OET, IELTS, PTE, German language courses, and healthcare licensure exams.
• Ability to work on-site in Kottayam, collaborate within a team, and adapt to a fast-paced educational environment.
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline, preferably in education, psychology, counseling, or related fields.
• Prior experience in academic counseling, student support services, or education consulting is an advantage.
• Comfort with using computers and common office software for record-keeping, communication, and basic reporting.
