Position Summary
The Student Admissions & Marketing Counselor cum Student Mentor will play a dual role in attracting prospective students to AIMS Institutes while also supporting the personal, academic, emotional, and professional development of enrolled students.
The ideal candidate should possess strong counseling skills, excellent communication abilities, and a background in Psychology or Behavioral Sciences. The role requires active involvement in admissions counseling, student outreach, student welfare initiatives, mentoring programs, and retention activities.
The incumbent will serve as a trusted guide for students throughout their educational journey while contributing to institutional enrollment goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Admissions Counseling & Student Recruitment Student Counseling
- Counsel prospective students and parents regarding academic programs, career opportunities, admissions procedures, scholarships, and campus facilities.
- Understand student aspirations, interests, and career goals and guide them toward suitable programs.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions through walk-ins, telephone, online platforms, and educational fairs.
Admissions Support
- Manage the complete student admission cycle from inquiry generation to enrollment.
- Follow up with prospective students and parents to ensure conversion of inquiries into admissions.
- Maintain accurate records of student inquiries, applications, and admission status in the CRM system.
- Assist students in completing admission documentation and enrollment formalities.
Marketing & Outreach Activities
- Participate in school visits, career guidance programs, educational exhibitions, admission campaigns, and outreach activities.
- Represent AIMS Institutes professionally during admission drives and promotional events.
- Support digital and offline marketing initiatives aimed at student recruitment.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Team for lead generation and admission conversion activities.
- Student Mentoring & Student Success Student Welfare & Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for students seeking academic, emotional, or personal guidance.
- Provide mentoring support to students facing adjustment challenges, academic stress, anxiety, or personal concerns.
- Identify students requiring additional support and refer them to professional counselors when necessary.
Academic Mentoring
- Monitor student progress and engagement throughout the academic year.
- Conduct regular mentoring sessions with assigned students.
- Support students in setting academic and career goals.
- Encourage student participation in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.
Student Retention & Engagement
- Develop initiatives to improve student satisfaction and retention.
- Conduct student feedback sessions and recommend improvements.
- Assist in organizing orientation programs, induction sessions, wellness initiatives, and student engagement activities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.
Parent Interaction
- Act as a liaison between students, parents, faculty, and administration when required.
- Provide regular updates and support to parents regarding student welfare and progress.
- Handle sensitive situations with professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy.
Psychology-Based Student Support Responsibilities
The candidate should effectively utilize psychological principles and counseling techniques to:
- Build trust and rapport with students.
- Support students dealing with stress, anxiety, adjustment issues, and academic challenges.
- Conduct basic student well-being assessments.
- Promote mental wellness and emotional resilience.
- Organize awareness programs on mental health, stress management, and personal development.
- Support diversity, inclusion, and student empowerment initiatives.
Qualifications Essential
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Kannada (additional languages preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and counseling abilities.
Preferred
- Certification in Counseling, Student Mentoring, Career Guidance, or Behavioral Training.
- Experience in Higher Education Institutions, Universities, Schools, EdTech, Student Support Services, or Counseling Centers.
- Knowledge of student engagement and retention practices.
