Core Responsibilities
- Clinical Counseling: Explain diagnosed eye conditions (such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, or Refractive errors) and the recommended surgical interventions in easy-to-understand language.
- Procedure Walkthroughs: Detail the different types of intraocular lenses (IOLs), surgical packages, and technology options (e.g., Robotic vs. Manual surgery) available to the patient.
- Financial Advising: Provide transparent cost estimates for surgeries, explain insurance coverage/TPA processes, and offer information on available EMI or financing options.
- Patient Advocacy: Address patient anxieties and queries regarding recovery times, success rates, and post-operative care.
- Conversion & Scheduling: Follow up with patients post-consultation to assist them in scheduling their procedures and ensuring all pre-operative requirements are met.
Key Skills & Qualifications
CategoryRequirementsEducation Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Optometry, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience 1–3 years in healthcare counseling, preferably in Ophthalmology or elective surgery environments.
Communication Fluency in the local language and English; ability to simplify medical jargon.
Soft Skills High empathy, active listening, and strong persuasion/sales skills without being pushy.
Technical Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and basic medical billing.
