CMA/CA with 12+ yrs of Post Qualification experience in Sugar Industries / Manufacturing Industries with multi-unit operations having various By Products
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Costing (Integrated Operations):
- Prepare and maintain process-wise and product-wise costing for:
- Sugar (plantation to production)
- By-products (molasses, bagasse, press mud)
- Distillery products (ethanol, ENA, rectified spirit)
- Power (co-generation using bagasse/other fuels)
- Develop integrated cost models considering inter-unit transfers (e.g., molasses → distillery, bagasse → power)
- Ensure accurate cost allocation across all by-products
By-product & Revenue Optimization:
- Analyze profitability of by-products vs internal consumption
- Support decisions like:
- Sell vs use bagasse for power generation
- Molasses diversion to ethanol vs sale
- Track and improve realization per tonne of cane crushed
Cost Control & Efficiency Monitoring:
- Monitor key operational metrics such as:
- Recovery % (sugar)
- Distillery yield (litres per tonne of molasses/grain)
- Steam and power consumption efficiency
- Conduct variance analysis (cane cost, process losses, conversion costs)
- Identify and drive cost reduction initiatives across plants
Cane Costing & Pricing Support:
- Analyze cane procurement cost (FRP/SAP impact)
- Evaluate impact of government pricing policies on margins
- Support management in cane price planning and farmer payments strategy
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Track actuals vs budget and provide actionable insights
- Coordinate with plant and procurement teams for realistic planning
Inventory & Valuation:
- Ensure accurate valuation of:
- Sugar stock (including levy/free sale if applicable)
- Molasses, bagasse, ethanol inventory
- Handle complexities of season-end stock valuation
- Monitor obsolete or slow-moving inventory
MIS & Reporting:
- Provide detailed MIS including:
- Segment-wise profitability (Sugar / Distillery / Power)
- Product-wise contribution margins
- Unit-wise performance benchmarking
- Support pricing decisions for ethanol and power supply agreements
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Strengthen costing-related internal controls
- Support audits (internal, statutory, cost audit)
- Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and cost audit requirements
Cross-functional Coordination:
- Work closely with:
- Cane development team
- Plant operations (sugar, distillery, power)
- Marketing and regulatory teams
- Act as a business partner to plant heads and management
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing processes
- Expertise in SAP S/4 HANA
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Ability to influence plant teams and drive cost discipline
- Good communication and presentation skills
