NRC Groups is looking for an experienced Costing & Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate estimates and competitive quotations for fabrication projects.

Location: Coimbatore

Role Overview

You will review engineering drawings and customer specifications to estimate costs for mild steel (MS) and stainless steel (SS) fabrication, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, structural fabrication and process equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material requirements and quotations.
• Calculate material, labour, fabrication, machining, welding, surface treatment and subcontracting costs.
• Review drawings and technical specifications to identify scope gaps and clarify requirements before quoting.
• Coordinate with design, production and procurement teams to validate costs and manufacturing feasibility.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and support technical and commercial discussions.
• Prepare costing inputs for tenders and proposals within required deadlines.
• Maintain costing records, update material and process rates, and compare estimated costs with actual project costs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fabrication costing and estimation.
• Sound knowledge of MS/SS materials, fabrication methods, welding and machining processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and P&IDs.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools.
• Familiarity with applicable fabrication codes and standards, including ASME and IS.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, communication and coordination skills.
