Job Description

  • Study customer drawings and specifications for sheet metal parts and assemblies
  • Prepare cost estimates and quotations for laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, and finishing processes
  • Estimate manufacturing cycle times and labor costs.
  • Evaluate tooling, fixtures, and special process requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Sales teams for accurate costing.
  • Analyze BOM and routing for cost optimization.
  • Support negotiation and price revision activities.
  • Maintain costing records and update standard cost data.
  • Assist in value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure quotations are submitted on time as per customer requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes: laser cutting, turret punching, bending, welding, and surface finishing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and market pricing.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing cycle time calculation.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP / SAP costing modules (preferred).
  • MS Excel skills for cost analysis.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • 26 years experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing industry.
