Cost Engineer for E-Houses (Cost Value Engineering / CVE)
Location: Bangalore, India
A Snapshot of Your Day
You collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and our
global supplier base to create cost and value transparency for E-House solutions — from
modular electrical buildings to fully integrated turnkey units. You analyze technical
concepts, break down material, fabrication, and integration cost drivers, and provide
fact-based design-to-value recommendations that support both product development
and sourcing decisions.
Your day includes building should-cost models, validating supplier quotations, and
participating in cross-functional workshops to help optimize product architecture and
specifications. With your technical and commercial understanding, you help
Procurement prepare for supplier negotiations by delivering clear, data-driven cost
insights that strengthen competitiveness in the E-House market.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Drive cost transparency for E-Houses by developing should-cost models and
analyzing key cost drivers across materials, fabrication, and integration
- Support design optimization and target costing by evaluating alternatives and
identifying simplification and value-improvement opportunities with Engineering
- Strengthen supplier negotiations with reliable cost breakdowns, benchmarks, and
fact-based input for sourcing strategies
- Improve competitiveness and profitability by identifying cost-out levers in
modularization, material selection, and manufacturing processes
- Drive standardization of E-House designs, BOM structures, and cost breakdown
templates to improve comparability, reusability, and scalability across projects
- Advance cross-functional collaboration by representing CVE in the E-House
Commodity Circle and promoting a shared cost-and-value mindset across teams
- Lead cross-functional collaboration on creation of a price predictability model for
E-Houses
- Contribute to the global CVE network by exchanging best practices, tools, and
insights to continuously improve CVE methods within EAD
