Position Summary:

The position is responsible for accurate techno-commercial costing of composite products across RFQ, development, and serial production stages. The role requires a strong technical understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes,

tooling, and cost structures to ensure competitive yet profitable pricing/costing.

Educational Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Polymer / Composite Engineering

MBA (Operations/Finance) Preferred

Experience:

03 - 04 Years In A Composite Manufacturing or Engineering Costing.

Key Objectives Of The Role:

1- Develop accurate and competitive product cost estimates for composite components.

2- Ensure profitability through detailed cost breakdown analysis.

3- Support new business development by responding to RFQs within timelines.

4- Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.

5- Maintain costing database and standard cost libraries.

Roles & Responsibilities:

A. RFQ & New Business Costing:

1- Review customer RFQs, technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications.

2- Submit cost estimates within RFQ timelines.

3- Support the sales team during techno-commercial negotiations.

B. Tooling & Capex Costing

1- Estimate mould cost (metallic/composite moulds).

2- Analyze tooling life and amortization per part.

3- Prepare the capex justification for new equipment.

4- Coordinate with the tool room vendors for quotations.

C. Production Cost Control:

1- Develop standard cost sheets for serial production parts.

2- Conduct variance analysis (Material, Labor, Overheads).

3- Identify high scrap areas and recommend corrective measures.

4- Support cost audits and financial reviews.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

1- RFQ Response Time : 95% within deadline

2- Cost Calculation Accuracy: Estimated vs Actual variance 5%

3- Profitability: Gross margin adherence as per target

4- Cost Reduction Minimum 35% annual savings initiatives

5- Data Accuracy Monthly update of costing database

Technical Knowledge:

1- Composite Materials: GFRP, CFRP, Aramid, Epoxy, Polyester, Vinyl Ester resins, Core materials.

2- Engineering Skills: Engg. Drawing reading, GD&T, BOM preparation, and weight calculation.

3- Costing Skills: Machine Hour Rate, Break-even analysis, Contribution margin analysis.

4- Software: Advanced MS Excel, ERP (SAP/Oracle preferred), CAD viewer tools.
