Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cost Engineer (Mechanical) with experience in cost modeling and should-cost analysis across various commodities. The candidate will play a key role in identifying cost optimization opportunities through teardown analysis and VAVE initiatives, supporting strategic sourcing and engineering decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cost models for various mechanical commodities and components
- Perform detailed should-cost analysis to support sourcing and negotiation strategies
- Participate in teardown and VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) workshops to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Analyze product designs and manufacturing processes to estimate cost drivers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and suppliers
- Support benchmarking and competitive cost analysis
- Prepare reports and dashboards for cost insights and decision-making
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Should Costing and Cost Modeling
- Knowledge of VAVE methodologies
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, fabrication, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau for data visualization
- Exposure to AI-based cost analytics tools
- Familiarity with global sourcing and cost structures
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Soft Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
