Job Description

As a Cost Controller, you will be the financial nerve center of our regional operations, providing the MD and senior leadership with clear visibility on costs, margins, and forecast accuracy. You will work in a fast-paced IT services environment where project economics, consultant utilization, and contract profitability directly impact our bottom line.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Management

  • Own and maintain the annual budget across all cost lines (headcount, subcontracting, overheads, intercompany recharges)
  • Track budget variances monthly (Revenue, Variable Contribution Margin, Commercial Cost, Fixed Cost, Operating Profit) and flag deviations early
  • Coordinate with Group Finance (France) for consolidation inputs and reporting templates

Margin Analysis

  • Analyze gross margin per contract, per practice (Consulting, Transformation, Managed Services) and per consultant profile
  • Monitor intercompany cost structures (India service center delivering for Singapore/HK)
  • Identify margin dilution risks, rate mismatches, bench time, SLA penalties, scope creep on fixed-price deals

Forecast & Reporting

  • Produce monthly rolling forecasts (P&L, headcount, utilization)
  • Build and maintain dashboards tracking key metrics: revenue, billability rate, VCM%, OperatingProfit%
  • Prepare MD-level financial packs and Board reporting inputs

Operational Finance

  • Work closely with delivery leads and account managers to understand contract economics
  • Challenge Business Managers on pricing assumptions for new deals
  • Support the MD in commercial negotiations with cost/margin modelling

Required Profile:

Experience: 6–9 years in financial control, ideally within IT services

Education: CA / MBA Finance / CMA or equivalent

Technical skills:

  • Strong Excel/financial modelling (mandatory)
  • Familiarity with reporting tools
  • Understanding of IT services P&L structure: revenue recognition, billability, bench costs, subcontracting margins
  • Knowledge of intercompany billing and multi-entity consolidation is a strong plus

Soft skills:

  • Autonomous, rigorous, comfortable dealing with a distributed management (MD based in Singapore)
  • Able to translate numbers into business narrative for non-finance stakeholders
  • Curious about the IT business, not just the spreadsheet
