Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Cost Control & Planning Engineer located in Vadodara. The role involves overseeing project cost control and planning activities to ensure compliance with project budgets. Responsibilities include managing cost reporting, supporting project control functions, developing cost analysis reports, monitoring expenditures, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project efficiency and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibility:
- Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring all costs are tracked against the initial baseline and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
- Cost Reporting: Prepare and present detailed monthly and quarterly cost reports, highlighting deviations and providing data-driven reasons for any financial variances.
- Forecasting: Generate accurate forecasts for cost-to-completion and raise formal deviation notes when project expenditures trend outside of the approved budget.
- Integrated Scheduling: Collaborate with the planning team to align cost reporting with Level-1 and Level-3 EPC schedules using Primavera P6.
- Procurement Support: Facilitate Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions by reviewing vendor offers and raising indents to ensure cost-effective material acquisition.
- Contract & Risk Management: Monitor contract compliance and support legal or arbitration matters as they relate to project costs and claims.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Lead weekly or monthly TAKT (schedule/cost review) meetings with execution teams to identify potential delays and their financial impact.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Primavera P6 (v21) for integrated project and cost control.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in EPC projects, specifically within the Refinery, Petrochemical, or Power sectors.
- Core Competencies: Strong background in Engineering Management, Cost Control, and Material Management.
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in English
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering and Contract Management are highly desirable.
