The Opportunity

  • Join Hitachi Energy's Controlling Capability Center as a Team Lead - SAP Controlling Finance Partner and play a strategic role in connecting Finance, Business Controllers, Global Finance Teams, and the SAP CO Center of Excellence (CoE).
  • In this role, you will drive SAP S/4HANA Controlling initiatives, partner with global finance stakeholders, and lead process optimization efforts across manufacturing, project, service, and software business models. You will act as a trusted advisor to controllers and business leaders, translating business requirements into scalable SAP solutions while ensuring alignment with global standards, governance, and transformation objectives.
  • As a functional leader within the Controlling Capability Center, you will own demand management activities, support end-to-end process improvements, and contribute to the evolution of standardized global finance processes. You will collaborate extensively with SAP functional teams, finance leaders, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve financial visibility, operational efficiency, and business performance.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Act as the primary interface between Controllers, Finance Stakeholders, and the SAP CO Center of Excellence, ensuring alignment between business priorities and SAP solutions.
  • Lead requirement gathering, solution discussions, and demand management activities for SAP Controlling enhancements and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of SAP Controlling processes across Make-to-Stock (MTS), Make-to-Order (MTO), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), Services, and Software business models.
  • Provide functional leadership and expertise across key Controlling areas including Product Costing, Cost Object Controlling, Material Ledger, CO-PA, Result Analysis, RAR, and Period-End Closing.
  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of overall controlling capabilities, KPI targets, automation programs, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Partner with global business and finance teams to analyse end-to-end financial value flows and identify opportunities for process standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Lead resolution of complex business and system issues through effective collaboration with SAP CO, FI, MM, SD, PP, and PS teams.
  • Support SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, global rollouts, and enhancement projects from solution design through implementation.
  • Develop and deliver training, knowledge-sharing sessions, process documentation, SOPs, and playbooks for the global controlling community.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial governance requirements, audit standards, and organizational policies.
  • Mentor junior consultants and team members while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Your Background

  • CA, CMA, CA Inter, CMA Inter, or MBA (Finance).
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in SAP CO Consulting, Finance Transformation, Controlling, or Management Accounting roles.
  • Experience in Handling a team of 4 - 5 members is mandatory.
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Controlling with expertise in areas such as Product Costing, Material Ledger, CO-PA, Cost Object Controlling, Allocation Cycles, and Profit Center Accounting.
  • Experience delivering at least one end-to-end SAP implementation, rollout, or major transformation project.
  • Strong understanding of integration between SAP CO and related modules including FI, MM, SD, PP, and PS.
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial, Project Business, or Global Capability Center environments preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a global and multicultural environment.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements, lead cross-functional initiatives, and influence business outcomes through technology-enabled solutions.
