Job Title: Manager / Senior Manager – Cost Accountant
Location: Mumbai
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to drive cost efficiency, strengthen financial controls, and partner with manufacturing & supply chain teams. This role will play a critical part in optimizing product costing, improving margins, and enabling data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end product costing, including BOM validation, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across manufacturing, procurement, and logistics
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs and highlight key cost drivers
- Partner with plant and supply chain teams to improve operational efficiency and margins
- Lead inventory valuation, provisioning, and reconciliation processes
- Monitor and control cost variances vs. budget/standard costs
- Support monthly MIS, budgeting, and forecasting from a cost perspective
- Strengthen cost control frameworks and internal processes
- Work closely with finance leadership on strategic cost initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- CMA with 5–10 years of experience (Manager) / 8–14 years (Senior Manager)
- Strong experience in manufacturing / consumer / D2C industry preferred
- Hands-on expertise in costing, inventory management, and variance analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite preferred)
