Role Overview and Responsibilities:
Dhruva Space is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant / Chartered Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. With 46 years of relevant experience in Activity-Based Costing (ABC), cost structures, financial analysis, and audit support, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in strengthening financial and cost controls and enabling data-driven decision-making.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and maintain Activity-Based Costing (ABC) models across programs and manufacturing processes.
- Identify cost drivers and allocate indirect costs accurately across cost pools.
- Analyze cost structures and recommend optimization and efficiency improvement measures.
- Prepare detailed product cost sheets and project-level costing models.
- Conduct standard vs actual variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
- Manage inventory valuation, WIP costing, overhead absorption, and conversion cost calculations.
- Support pricing decisions and contract bids for commercial and government clients.
- Manage costing aspects of R&D programs and new product development initiatives.
- Perform program-level margin and profitability analysis.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling activities.
- Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and support statutory cost audits and internal reviews.
- Prepare audit documentation and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Ensure accurate cost capture within ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred) and manage periodic costing runs.
- Improve data integrity, streamline costing workflows, and automate reporting processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to ensure financial alignment and timely execution.
Candidate Requirements:
- CA / CMA (Cost Accountant) Qualified.
- 46 years of relevant experience in Activity-Based Costing, product/project costing, financial analysis, and audit support.
- Strong expertise in ABC implementation and cost modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting standards, variance analysis, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in manufacturing or project-based costing environments, preferably in aerospace, engineering, defence, or Advanced Electronics sectors.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and business partnering capability.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional and global teams.
