Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional for the role of Costing Executive / Cost Accountant/ AM Costing within our manufacturing business. The incumbent will be responsible for product costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and cost control activities to support operational and strategic decision-making. The role requires close coordination with production, procurement, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate costing and improved profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Costing & Cost Control
- Prepare and maintain product cost sheets, BOM-based costing, and standard costing models.
- Perform detailed variance analysis between standard costs and actual costs and provide actionable insights.
- Monitor material, labour, and overhead costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and support operational efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure proper allocation of overheads and maintenance of costing structures.
- Conduct profitability analysis for products, customers, and business segments.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan processes through cost-related inputs.
- Work closely with production and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency and inventory management.
- Inventory & Financial Reporting
- Manage inventory valuation in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Reconcile inventory records with finance and operations teams.
- Assist in monthly closing activities related to costing and inventory accounting.
- Prepare MIS reports and cost analysis reports for management review.
- Support internal and statutory audits related to costing and inventory processes.
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Maintain and update costing masters, BOMs, routing data, and standard cost structures in ERP systems.
- Ensure data accuracy within ERP and costing modules.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen cost controls and reporting efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
- Professional qualification such as CMA (ICWA) preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in costing within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
