cosmetologist is a licensed professional who provides comprehensive beauty services, including hair styling, coloring, and cutting; skin care treatments like facials; makeup application; and nail services such as manicures and pedicures. They analyze client needs, advise on beauty techniques, and sell products, while ensuring strict sanitation standards.Key ResponsibilitiesHair Services: Shampoo, cut, style, dye, and treat hair (e.g., deep conditioning, extensions).Skin Care & Makeup: Apply makeup, perform facials, and provide hair removal services (waxing/threading).Nail Care: Perform manicures, pedicures, and apply artificial nails.Client Consultation: Analyze skin, hair, and nail conditions to recommend treatments and retail products.Sanitation & Maintenance: Clean and sterilize tools, sanitize workstations, and follow all safety/health regulations (OSHA).Business Management: Schedule appointments, manage inventory, and build client relationships.Required Qualifications & SkillsLicensure: Completion of a state-accredited cosmetology school and an active license.Skills: Strong communication, creativity, up-to-date knowledge of beauty trends, and customer service skills.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and work with chemicals.Work EnvironmentCosmetologists often work in salons, spas, or resorts, frequently working weekends, evenings, or holidays.
