About the role
Cvent's Corporate Development team serves a critical function by driving inorganic growth to support the company's long-term strategic goals. Sitting at the intersection of strategy and M&A execution, the team partners closely with senior leadership across every department at Cvent in the full acquisition lifecycle including sourcing and identification, business case formulation, financial analysis, valuation negotiation, due diligence, and closing. While we rely on structured workflows curated through a strong track record of successful acquisitions, we always remain flexible to adapt to complex scenarios through creative problem-solving. In a rapidly evolving Event Management SaaS landscape, it takes a team of superstars to sustain Cvent's competitive advantage
through M&A.
We are looking to hire a full-time Corporate Development Analyst based in our Gurgaon office who will report to the US-based Senior Manager of Corporate Development, to support the full M&A lifecycle from sourcing to closing. You will serve as the junior member of a lean high-performing team and will quickly gain exposure to Cvent's global senior management.
What You Will Be Doing
• Assist in the identification and preliminary analysis of potential acquisition candidates
• Perform detailed analysis on potential acquisitions, including a review of historical 3-statement
trends, detailed P&L and cash flow forecasting, customer retention, and bottoms-up cost builds
• Liaise with department leads as a project manager of due diligence workstreams, including dataroom coordination, milestone tracking, and checklist management
• Own the Corporate Development team's market landscape database and monitor key developments
• Ad-hoc special projects. Examples include data analysis requested by Cvent executives, market research, board presentations, and financing initiatives
What You Will Need for this Position
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science,
Engineering, or other relevant fields
• 2-7 years of work experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, private equity, venture capital or other relevant fields
• Proficient in 3-statement modeling, M&A valuation analysis techniques (DCF, multiples, etc.), and
rigorous analysis of large complex datasets
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluent in written and spoken English, with excellent communication and presentation skills
• Prior experience in SaaS, and/or strong familiarity with SaaS retention metrics and Revenue recognition
• Prior M&A live deal experience, particularly due diligence and financial analysis
• Experience working with, and/or presenting to, senior executives (internally or client-side)
