Job Description
The Company
Our client is a major global player in the food and agri-commodities sector, operating across dozens of markets worldwide. This role sits within a dedicated entity set up to steward a portfolio of the group's businesses, working closely with senior leadership as those assets move through a structured value-realisation programme. It's a hands-on, high-visibility position reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities
- Run day-to-day sanctions screening and monitoring via a leading screening platform, ensuring full coverage across counterparties and business relationships
- Investigate and clear sanctions, AML, anti-bribery & corruption and adverse-media alerts, escalating where needed
- Carry out ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO) checks and enhanced due diligence on higher-risk relationships
- Liaise with external counsel on sanctions matters and provide advisory support to business teams and management
- Own the end-to-end administration of mandatory compliance training — assignment, tracking, completion reporting and record-keeping
- Refresh the training curriculum in line with regulatory change, incidents and emerging risk; partner with HR and business units to close awareness gaps
- Design and roll out compliance awareness campaigns that strengthen the ethics-and-conduct culture
- Enhance and automate LMS, attestation and monitoring tools, and build dashboards giving real-time visibility of completion, attestation status and outstanding actions
- Safeguard data integrity, auditability and record retention across all training and attestation activity
- Lead periodic review, refresh and rebranding of compliance policies to keep pace with regulatory expectations
- Oversee the group's global insurance portfolio end-to-end: assess coverage adequacy, identify gaps, and support annual renewals and placements
- Coordinate with brokers, insurers and reinsurers on risk assessments and exposure reporting, and drive claims through to closure
- Prepare insurance updates for Board and management
Requirements
- Degree in law, business, risk management, insurance or a related discipline
- 4–8 years across sanctions/legal compliance, ethics & conduct and insurance (certifications in sanctions, compliance or insurance a plus)
- Solid grasp of the major sanctions regimes (OFAC, EU, UK, UN) and familiarity with AML and ABC frameworks
- Hands-on experience with insurance placements, renewals and claims
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills
