About Corporate Communications
Corporate Communications in Axis Bank is responsible for shaping and driving External & Internal
Communications, encompassing media, employees, industry body associations, thought leadership platforms and
awards & recognitions platforms.
About the Role
Join our dynamic team as Vice President - Corporate Communications, where you will shape and execute strategic
communication initiatives that enhance our brand and support our business priorities.
This role entails developing and executing media plans, collaborating and driving agencies, managing crisis
communications, and adhering to the regulatory and compliance requirements.
It also involves planning events such as press conferences and maintaining strong media relations, particularly
within the BFSI sector. Overall, Corporate Communications function is crucial for shaping the public image of the
business through strategic media engagement programs.
Key Responsibilities
. Creating and implementing media plans for various campaigns and business initiatives.
. Collaborating and driving with agencies to deliver successful communication campaigns.
. Liaising with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on media approaches and strategies.
. Understanding regional media landscapes to enhance visibility across different geographies
. Writing and editing content such as press releases, articles, and media briefing documents.
. Managing communication during crisis incidents, drafting holding statements, and preparing advisory notes
for internal stakeholders while engaging with the media.
. Collaborating with various departments to identify newsworthy topics and proactively drive
communications.
. Ensuring compliance with media and communication regulations, conducting necessary audits, and
monitoring adherence to legal and ethical standards
. Planning events such as press conferences and media roundtables in both metro and non-metro cities.
. Engaging with and advising Business Heads on media strategies.
. Strong media relation with BFSI media especially - Banking media.
. Stay updated about banking industry, monitor industry trends and regulatory announcements. This role will
involve extensive outreach and reporting to ensure current and relevant insights.
. Evaluate panel discussions and speakership opportunities for the spokespeople
Qualifications
. 15+ years of work experience, with atleast 5 years in managing public relations for a large organization . Strong understanding of managing communications in a heavily regulated, highly scrutinized environment, particularly in financial services . Proven strategic leadership with the ability to operate at high business levels while remaining hands-on and team oriented . Deep media relations and incident management experience with a network of trusted external relationships . Experience building strong stakeholder relationships at all levels . Ability to understand business issues and devise communications solutions appropriately . Ability to deal in pressurized situations . Good written and verbal communication skills . Experience of social media, presentation skills, video or graphic design production are an added advantage . Strong event/project management skills Education: . Bachelor's/master's in public relations, communications or another related field.
