Job Description :

We are looking for a Sr.Copy Editor with a strong command of the English language and a passion for editing humanities content. The ideal candidate should be experienced in handling different levels of editing and familiar with major editorial style guides. This role requires excellent editorial accuracy, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor and guide other editors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform light, medium, and heavy copyediting for humanities books and journal projects.
• Apply appropriate style rules from the Chicago Manual of Style, APA, Oxford Style Manual, or other publisher-specific guidelines.
• Review copyedited files from in-house editors and freelancers; validate changes and ensure consistency.
• Provide constructive feedback and mentoring support to junior editors and freelancers.
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of assigned projects.
• Work collaboratively within a team, while also being able to take individual ownership of tasks.
• Adapt to varying publisher-specific requirements.
• Address and resolve editorial or process-related challenges effectively.
