The Copy Director is responsible for the copy health and workflow of at least one national consumer title, focussing on print (and web/digital as needed). The Copy Director will work daily with the brand(s) and in-market operations to meet deadlines and with the Global Copy Director to support best practices and maintain workflows. The Copy Director will be involved in file management and may also participate in display writing, light fact-checking (name checks) and will train and supervise the work of copy managers and/or copy editors and freelancers
The Copy Director is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity, supporting both the title and the company's code of conduct. This role will liaise daily with art production, design, editorial and brand management (and fact-checking in certain markets)
The Copy Director may be asked to help support other titles and/or content as time permits or as company priorities shift and train other staff on workflows and the K4 print workflow. The Copy Director will work with other members of the Content Integrity Team on style guides and matters pertaining to sensitive language
