Role Summary

The Copilot Developer is responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting AI-powered agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio. Working closely with the Copilot Architect and Business Analyst, the developer translates business requirements into scalable, secure, and user-friendly copilots while adhering to enterprise governance and platform standards. The role requires hands-on development expertise, integration skills, and a strong understanding of Microsoft's AI and Power Platform ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and deploy Copilot Studio agents, topics, actions, and conversational workflows.
• Integrate Copilot agents with enterprise systems using Power Platform connectors, REST APIs, Dataverse, Azure services, and third-party applications.
• Build, test, and optimize prompts, orchestration flows, knowledge sources, and agent responses to improve user experience and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the Copilot Architect to implement platform standards, governance controls, security requirements, and best practices.
• Develop custom integrations using Power Automate, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and APIs to extend agent capabilities.
• Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization of Copilot solutions.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and production support activities.
• Create technical documentation, deployment guides, and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Monitor agent performance, user adoption, and usage metrics and recommend continuous improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Responsible AI, security, privacy, and organizational governance policies.
  
  

Primary Skills

• Hands-on experience building solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio.

• Strong understanding of topics, actions, entities, generative AI capabilities, and knowledge sources.

• Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).

• Strong proficiency in REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and system integrations.

• Experience with Azure Services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure OpenAI, Storage Accounts, and API Management.

• Good understanding of conversational AI design principles and prompt engineering.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Secondary Skills

• Experience with C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.

• Knowledge of Azure AD / Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identity, and Key Vault.

• Understanding of Power Platform governance, DLP policies, and environment management.

• Experience with Microsoft Graph APIs and M365 integrations.

• Familiarity with AWS services supporting enterprise AI workloads.

• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.

• Exposure to Responsible AI, security compliance, and enterprise architecture standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Microsoft certifications in Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI, or Azure Solutions.

• 3+ years of Power Platform development experience.

• 1+ years of hands-on Copilot Studio or conversational AI development experience.
