Project title: Unnat Maharashtra Abhiyan Yojana
About the project: Unnat Maharashtra Abhiyan (UMA) is a programme of the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, designed and implemented by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). IITB-UMA team designed and executed different project activities under the UMA project of IIT Bombay.
The key objectives of the project are to:
- Reform teaching, curricula and research to cater development needs of Maharashtra
- Create academic space for projects and studies in domains relevant to development
- Train future professionals for development objectives
Apale Prashn Apale Vidyan (APAV) one of the project activities, is a Case-Study Based Professional Work and Research for College Students.
Position: APAV Project Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Overall planning, execution and monitoring of the Aapale Prashna Aapale Vidnyan (APAV) activities of various projects at IITB.
- Work closely with various stakeholders both within and outside academia to ensure smooth execution of APAV projects.
- As far as academic modules are concerned, coordinate with the regional higher education institutes for incorporation of APAV modules in their curriculum and support the rollout of the same.
- Design studies on various topics and publicise APAV work in academia and outside.
- Ensure documentation of the various project activities.
- Collaboration to other activities of the UMA project
Required Qualifications:
- Masters in Engineering / Technology / Sciences with at least 6 years of relevant work experience (which may include Ph.D. in relevant areas).
- Bachelors in Engineering / Technology with at least 8 years of relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience:
- Experience in the fields such as action research, community engagement, field projects will be considered valuable
- Experience of working with the grassroot NGOs, CSOs and with government agencies will be considered
- Experience of teaching at higher education institutes may also be considered, subject to the nature of the projects executed during the said tenure
- Combination of any of the above experiences will be an added advantage to the candidate
Desired Skills:
- Communication, management and leadership skills
- Good documentation and analytical skills
- Proficiency in English and Marathi (written and spoken)
- Demonstrated ability to design studies on local topics and get them executed through various stakeholders
- Experience in use of GIS and other IT tools
Salary: 60-90K as per the capabilities of candidate
Tenure Duration: Initially for 3 months, from the date of joining and successful completion of this is extended to1 year
