Job Title: Coordinator/Associate Coordinator

Chintan is a non-profit Circular Society Do-Tank that improves the lives, livelihoods, and leadership of those who contribute the least to environmental degradation and climate change, while addressing the inequitable consumption that causes it. Our work is rooted in inclusive, science-based research and advocacy, both within and outside government systems. We aim to identify intersectional needs, amplify marginalized voices, and promote systemic, equitable change.
We are looking for a proactive, community-oriented professional to join our team as a Coordinator/Associate Coordinator for a short-term, high-impact projects that addresses waste-linked air pollution through inclusive, grassroots-led solutions. The Coordinator/Associate Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager and play a central role in delivering engaging and gender-responsive workshops, building the capacity of diverse community stakeholders, and facilitating community learning in Delhi.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist in leading and manage all aspects of project planning, implementation, and delivery across Delhi.
- To assist in developing and maintaining detailed project timelines, work plans, and progress tracking tools.
- Coordinate with partner, schools, RWAs, municipal authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure timely implementation of activities including workshops, digital campaigns, and events.
- Supervise field staff, trainers, content developers, and volunteers involved in the project.
- Organize orientation and planning sessions for community champions and partners.
- Assist in leading the development of high-quality progress reports (narrative and quantitative).
- Collect and compile field data, testimonials, photographs, and beneficiary information.
- Collaborate with the communications team for regular social media content creation and outreach.
- Assist in supporting manager in press release drafting, blog writing, and digital campaign coordination.
- Plan and execute interactive workshops, peer-learning dialogues, and community sessions.
- Ensure logistical preparedness for events, including visibility materials, participant outreach, and media coordination.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, Education, Environmental Studies, or related field.
- Prior experience in air pollution, environmental policy, and related research or programme work is essential.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in conducting community-based training, preferably in urban environmental health, waste management, or public health.
- Strong facilitation skills and experience working with low-income or marginalized communities, including waste workers, women, and youth.
- Fluency in Hindi and English is essential.
- Ability to travel within Delhi and the other places if required.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of waste-air pollution linkages and safe waste handling practices.
- Experience with participatory training tools, adult education, or behavioural change communication.
- Comfort with documentation, including field reporting, case studies, and feedback forms.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse communities.
