Roles & Responsibilities:
- Domain Knowledge: Experience with Automotive cooling system components.
- Testing Knowledge: Understanding of cooling system and component-level testing.
- Design Knowledge: Expertise in plastic and sheet metal design guidelines and manufacturing processes.
- CATIA V5 Skills: Proficiency in 2D/3D design.
- PLM Tools: Familiarity with PLM tools like Windchill / Enovia
- GD&T Knowledge: Understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- MS Tools: Proficiency in SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Release Process and Change Management: Knowledge of these processes.
- Fundamentals and Analytical Skills: Strong foundational and analytical abilities.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication.
- Design: Cooling lines, heat exchangers, expansion tanks, plastic and sheet metal components, cooling modules, fan shroud assembly.
- Packaging and Concept Study: Ensuring components fit and function within the vehicle. • Coordination: Working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Participation: In DFM/DFA/DFS/DFMEA & DVP activities.
Mentoring / ownership capabilities:
- Technical Ownership: Takes ownership of components or subsystems throughout the design lifecycle—from concept to production support.
- Design Review Leadership: Leads or actively contributes to design reviews, DFMEA discussions, and technical decision-making forums.
- Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Supports junior engineers through guidance on design practices, CAD standards, and engineering fundamentals.
- Stakeholder Management: Acts as a technical interface between internal teams and external suppliers to resolve design, quality, and delivery issues.
- Decision‑Making & Accountability: Demonstrates sound judgment when addressing design risks, trade-offs, and change requests.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Proactively identifies opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, weight reduction, and process improvement.
- Effective Communication: Communicates technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling alignment and timely decisions.
- Program Support & Execution: Supports milestone tracking, issue closure, and adherence to program timelines with a responsible and proactive approach.
