We operate the world's largest aluminium plant at Jharsuguda, Odisha, with aluminium smelting capacity of 1.85 MTPA and an associated 3615 MW thermal power generation facility. It is the only smelter in the global 1 million Tonne production and export club, and a leader in value-added aluminium products that find critical applications across a diverse array of industries.

To partner with us in this exciting journey and unlock new values for the business, we are looking for passionate professionals for the COO Power, Vedanta Aluminium Metal Jharsuguda.

Roles & Responsibilities:

•Ensuring Operations & Maintenance of CPP (9*135 MW) and IPP (4*600 MW) units with 100% PLF, 100% plant availability, and optimize APC & SCC for CPP and IPP units.

•Lead Strategic Projects: Oversee OH/AOH/COH, infrastructure upgrades, and ESG-linked construction (ash ponds, silos, ZLD).

•Maximize Fly Ash Utilization: Increase DFA usage by 40%, ensure 100% sustainable disposal, and streamline rake logistics.

•Drive Cost Efficiency: Meet power cost targets, eliminate EBITDA loss, and reduce GWC.

•Ensure Zero Harm: Drive zero fatality and LTI with 100% compliance to safety protocols (VSAP, CAPA, CRM, etc.).

•Enhance Digitalization: Implement 50% of digital projects (APC, dashboards, SPARK) and integrate smart monitoring tools.

•Strengthen ESG Compliance: Achieve zero environmental/legal non-compliance and meet ESG goals as per plan.

•Improve Organizational Metrics: Boost AO audit score, 5S audit score and QMS.

•Develop Talent & Culture: Ensure 100% succession planning, reduce attrition, and increase diversity to 12%.

•Foster Innovation: Champion new technologies like online sensors, fly ash bricks, and containerized DFA dispatch

Desired Skills:

• Education Qualification - B.E. /B.Tech. with strong systems & process orientation with 20 - 25 years of experience of proven leadership in large-scale power plant operations (preferably >2000 MW).
• Strong track record in safety, compliance, and ESG.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.
• Experience in digital transformation and cost optimization.
• Passionate about people development and inclusive leadership.
• Strategic thinker, capable of defining and communicating a long‑term vision aligned to business objectives
• 60% & above across education background with only 1yr of education gap
