Technical Qualifications & Knowledge:
Technical Degree in Mining / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering (advanced qualifications preferred).
Certification Related To: Mine safety, Environmental compliance, Explosive handling (PESOrelated), Business Administration

- Experience driving capacity expansion, operational turnaround, and efficiency improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership Mining & Processing
- Lead end-to-end phosphate mining and processing operations, ensuring delivery of production targets aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee annual mining of 15 million cubic meters of OB/ROM and manage current processing capacity of 3.5 LMT per annum, with planned expansion to 7 LMT.
- Implement robust operating procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient performance across mining and plant operations.
- Drive throughput optimization, plant reliability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven decision-making.
2. Safety, Regulatory & Compliance Governance
- Ensure full compliance with Senegalese mining regulations, environmental standards, and statutory requirements.
- Lead workplace safety programs, risk assessments, and audits aligned with global mining safety standards.
- Promote a zero-harm culture and enforce environmental and operational compliance across sites.
3. Production Planning, Quality & Process Control
- Develop and execute integrated production plans to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.
- Implement quality assurance systems to ensure phosphate output meets blending and processing specifications.
- Monitor operational KPIs and initiate corrective actions to maintain performance and yield targets.
4. Financial & Resource Management
- Develop and manage operational budgets, including cost optimization and capital expenditure planning.
- Ensure efficient allocation of manpower, equipment, utilities, and critical inputs to sustain uninterrupted operations.
- Align resource planning with expansion and long-term growth objectives.
5. Project Execution & Capacity Expansion
- Lead the establishment and commissioning of:
- Wet Plant ; SSP Plant and Second Fixed Processing Plant
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to defined technical specifications.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
6. Supply Chain & Logistics Oversight
- Oversee logistics for transport of mined phosphate to blending and export points, ensuring integration with downstream fertilizer operations.
- Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure availability of critical materials and infrastructure support.
7. Commercial Responsibility (Future Scope)
- Assume leadership of SSP sales operations in the next phase.
- Align production planning with market demand and drive revenue growth and profitability.
8. People Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead 67 direct reportees, including 2 expatriates, and oversee a workforce of 100 employees and 500 CWM personnel.
- Drive workforce planning, performance management, capability development, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, safety, and ethical conduct.
9. Stakeholder & Government Relations
- Maintain proactive engagement with government authorities, regulators, and community stakeholders to ensure operational continuity.
- Support strategic alignment and reporting requirements in partnership with key stakeholders.
10. Risk Management & Operational Innovation
- Identify and mitigate operational, environmental, and supply chain risks through structured risk management frameworks.
- Champion modernization initiatives including automation, digital monitoring tools, and analytics to enhance operational efficiency and forecasting accuracy.
