Analyze, and validate control algorithms for traction, auxiliary converters, and vehicle control systems.
Good understanding knowledge on control logic, signal processing of I/O's, and system monitoring functions for traction motors, brakes, auxiliary loads, and vehicle subsystems.
Good knowledge on integration of electrical and electronic interfaces across system components .
Electrical System Understanding & Circuit Expertise
Analyze and solve complex electrical circuits and power paths used in traction and auxiliary systems.
Interpret and design schematics, wiring diagrams, control block diagrams, and system-level architecture.
Perform simulations and modeling (Matlab/Simulink or similar) for circuit behavior and control performance.
Problem-Solving & Logical Analysis
Apply strong logical reasoning to diagnose system-level issues and identify root causes in the errors while doing simulations on traction, auxiliary, and vehicle control systems.
Work effectively with cross-functional teams (software validation using MIL/SIL/HIL) to resolve functional and integration challenges.
Evaluate test reports, simulation issues, and design deviations with a structured, analytical approach during model migration.
Work Experience
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in a STEM discipline.
At least 1 year of experience with RTOS control design, hardware design, diagnostics, or test
Ability and willingness to work hands-on in test labs and on locomotives with high HP (1000 KVA), medium voltage (2 KV) and high current (10 KA) systems
Desired Characteristics
Experience with MATLab Simulink or other Modeling tools
Experience with Electrical machines, power electronics and logic/algorithm design
Experience with system, subsystem and component level validation testing
Experience with transportation/locomotive systems control design and test
