Job Description

Why this role is important to us

Our Finance organization has successfully adopted a process-based organization within Controllership. Global Accounting Operations (GAO) is a core pillar of Controllership, owning high-volume, high-risk accounting processes and driving global standardization, centralization, and automation across end-to-end accounting activities. The model has now matured significantly, yielding centralization, standardization, and process improvement benefits. Importantly, in-depth subject matter expertise has been established resulting in stronger collaboration, higher stakeholder engagement and faster change management.

Building on this foundation, Global Accounting has undertaken a large-scale, zero-based process simplification initiative, aligned with the broader Finance transformation agenda. The Global Accounting team continues to operate as a trusted partner, consistently adding value and enabling better business outcomes.

Who we are looking for

The role will be responsible for the endtoend ownership of revenue accounting and accounts receivable within Global Accounting Operations. As State Street's revenues are predominantly derived from servicing and management fees, accurate revenue recognition and disciplined AR management are critical to financial integrity, stakeholder confidence, and external reporting.

The role ensures timely, accurate, and wellcontrolled revenue recognition and AR reporting across regions, supported by clear and credible explanations of movements, risks, and exceptions for senior Finance leadership.

This role serves as the single point of accountability for Revenue and AR close execution, governance, controls, audits, and issue resolution. In addition to delivering strong close and control outcomes, the role is responsible for driving continuous process improvement through simplification, automation, and the use of technology and AI.

The incumbent is expected to lead and develop a team of accountants, ensuring operational sustainability, building a strong talent pipeline, and fostering the capability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. Prior experience partnering closely with Technology teams and operating within the Controllership function of a large, global financial services organization is highly desirable.

The role works in close collaboration with Finance leadership, Controllers, FP&A, Technology, and Corporate and External Audit teams to maintain stakeholder confidence and strong control outcomes.

The position is based in Bengaluru, India.

  • Experience of running a large team with global coverage
  • Experience of leading redesign, centralization, standardization and automation
