Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Control Systems & Software Design Engineer with strong expertise in the Powertrain domain. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of Mechanical and Electronics engineering knowledge, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver high-quality powertrain-related components and systems.
Mandatory Skills
Domain Expertise
* Strong experience in Powertrain Systems and related sensor technologies.
* Good understanding of:
* Cylinder Head
* Crankshaft
* Combustion Systems
* DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
* SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction)
* Catalytic Converters
* Sensor placement, operating environments, and validation methodologies.
Mechanical Engineering Skills
* Proficiency in CREO for 3D Modeling and Design.
* Experience with Teamcenter PLM.
* Gasket Design, Development, Validation, and DFMEA.
* Engineering drawing creation and management.
Electronics & Software Skills
* Embedded C Programming.
* MATLAB/Simulink (Basic to Intermediate Knowledge).
* Sensor Integration and Mechatronics Systems.
* Control Systems Design and Development.
Quality & Process Management
* Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, and Quality Gates.
* Verification & Validation planning and execution.
* Supplier technical reviews and coordination.
* Technical documentation and change management.
Key Responsibilities
* Define system and component specifications (SOR – Statement of Requirements).
* Lead design and development activities for powertrain-related components and sensors.
* Perform 3D studies and design reviews to support product development.
* Interface with Mechatronic, Electrical, and Sensor Suppliers for technical discussions and issue resolution.
* Drive gasket development, DFMEA activities, and validation processes.
* Support Purchasing teams with technical evaluations and supplier selection.
* Manage part number creation, engineering drawings, technical documentation changes, and release processes.
* Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance to suppliers on verification and validation requirements.
* Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, and quality gate processes.
* Identify and implement component cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality and performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust and reliable solutions.
Preferred Skills
* Experience working with global automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Exposure to product lifecycle management and supplier quality processes.
