Location: Bangalore/Hyderabad

Duration: 12 Months (Extendable)

Role: F5 BIG-IP Platform Engineer (Automation, Hardening, Falcon Rollout)

Improve resilience and reduce operational risk across the F5 BIG-IP estate by: (1)

automating upgrades/patching and repeatable fleet changes, (2) implementing

hardening baselines and perimeter security improvements using F5 capabilities

(management plane, crypto/TLS, and AFM where applicable), and (3) accelerating

deployment of the CrowdStrike Falcon sensor across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement BIG-IP upgrade/patch automation (pre-checks, UCS

backups, HA sequencing/failover, post-checks, reporting) to enable repeatable

global rollout.

• Execute upgrades and patching in production using robust change management,

validation, and rollback; support TMOS version standardisation.

• Implement BIG-IP hardening baselines: secure management plane (SSH, admin

access, RBAC/MFA integration where applicable), configuration governance, and

audit logging.

• Improve crypto/TLS posture: standardise TLS versions and ciphers, certificate

lifecycle practices, and secure client/server SSL profiles.

• Enhance perimeter controls using F5 capabilities as applicable (e.g., AFM policy

and DoS protections, iRules hygiene, segmentation patterns) while reducing

attack surface.

• Plan and execute CrowdStrike Falcon sensor deployment on the BIG-IP fleet

(supported versions, prerequisites, change windows, rollback) and integrate the

rollout with automation where possible.

• Define monitoring and operational runbooks (upgrade automation, hardening

checks, Falcon health) and provide BAU handover.

Required skills and experience

• Strong hands-on F5 BIG-IP administration (LTM required; AFM highly desirable;

GTM/DNS a plus).

Information Classification: Limited Access

• Proven experience managing BIG-IP upgrades and patching at scale (UCS

backup/restore, HA pairs/clusters, validation, and rollback).

• Automation experience for BIG-IP fleet operations (Ansible, Python/shell,

iControl REST; pipeline-based execution and reporting preferred).

• Security hardening experience for BIG-IP (management-plane controls,

crypto/TLS posture, logging/audit, configuration baselines).

• Troubleshooting across networking (TCP/TLS), application behaviour, and

platform performance under load.

• Linux fundamentals and secure operations on hardened appliances.

• Endpoint/security agent deployment experience on appliances/servers

(CrowdStrike Falcon preferred).

Preferred (nice to have)

• F5 certifications (e.g., F5-CA/CTS) or equivalent delivery track record.

• Hands-on AFM firewall policy and DoS/DDoS protection experience.

• Experience integrating BIG-IP logs/telemetry into SIEM platforms and building

operational dashboards/runbooks.

• Experience running global/large-scale rollouts and coordinating multiple change

windows.
