Job Description Contracts Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a strong understanding of contract conditions, commercial terms, and project scheduling requirements.
  2. Ensure effective contract compliance and efficient contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Manage claims, including:
  • Identification of potential claim events
  • Preparation of claim justifications and strategic development of cases
  • Issuance of timely notices and contemporary records
  • Submission and follow-up of claims related to Extension of Time (EOT) and Change of Scope until realization.
  1. Prepare delay analysis and develop impacted schedules in coordination with planning teams.
  2. Prepare, maintain, and update EOT and Cost Claim management formats, registers, and documentation.
  3. Review and analyze project risk factors and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  4. Coordinate with and guide the site team to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and early identification of new claim opportunities.
  5. Formulate, implement, and monitor project communication systems and procedures.
  6. Maintain and control all contractual documents from contract award through project close-out.

  • Strong analytical and contractual interpretation skills
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and coordination abilities
  • Proactive approach to risk and claim identification
  • Ability to work closely with site, planning, and project management teams

Preferred Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in contracts administration and claims management in construction / infrastructure projects
