ERM seeks an experienced Contracts Analyst for the U.S./Canada region to serve as a key member of ERM's global Legal Department team. The ERM Legal Department provides legal support for ERM's management and operations globally (over 140 offices in over 40 countries). The General Counsel, located in London, UK, leads the entire global Legal Department, which in addition to the US/Canada team has members supporting Latin America, Europe/Africa, and Asia Pacific.
This position will support ERM and the Legal Department in carrying out the mission of reducing risk, improving decision-making, and enhancing client relations by world-class management of contracts and related information. This position will have an important role in optimizing ERM's performance on major contract delivery. The Contracts Analyst will report to or be supervised by the Senior Contracts Manager for U.S./Canada or the Regional Managing Counsel for the U.S./Canada/LAC. The Contracts Analyst will receive additional supervision and interaction with the other commercial attorneys in ERM's global Legal Department. Limited travel may be required. The candidate must be available during the typical working hours for Eastern Standard Time/U.S., e.g., 8:00 am to 5:00 pm/9:00 am to 6:00 pm (EST).
Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas
- Tracking contract obligations and compliance status
- Recording and managing key information about contracts
- Collecting and filing contracts and related documents
- Advising so reviews and approvals can be carried out in accordance with ERM's policies and procedures
- Drafting and reviewing certain contract types
- Supporting the connection between ERM businesspeople and the Legal Department, to maintain a client focussed approach
- Negotiating issues with guidance from ERM attorneys
- Providing information to ERM business representatives and attorneys about contracts.
The types of contracts and documents will include:
- Client contracts including master service agreements. These consist of modifications to ERM standard terms as well as client forms of agreement.
- Requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Subcontracts and other supplier contracts
- Teaming agreements
- Confidentiality agreements/non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
- Amendments and change orders
- A variety of other miscellaneous commercial documents.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience as a contract manager/analyst/administrator, handling complex client/customer contracts, supplier contracts including subcontracts and other contracts such as teaming/partnering agreements and NDAs
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business or technical discipline, or other relevant experience
- Eager to learn and take on responsibility

- Basic understanding of business entities and corporate/organizational structure concepts
Core Competencies
- Experience handling a service provider's contracts with larger corporate clients
- Experience helping business teams understand and mitigate certain risks associated with various contract terms
- Good understanding of environmental consulting business and construction projects
- Experience with MS office suite programs (word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.); contract and matter management applications experience is a plus.
