About Grumpy Beard Media
We create virality. Period.
Grumpy Beard Media is an award-winning 360° marketing agency that specialises in influencer-led campaigns, meme marketing, and storytelling that makes brands trend. We partner with leading industry names to help them break into culture, capture attention, and spark conversation. If it made you laugh, share, or screenshot, we probably had a hand in it.
About The Role
This is a full-time writing role across formats and platforms. You'll write Instagram captions, LinkedIn posts, meme scripts, campaign narratives, articles, ebooks, and ghostwritten content for the Founder. Some days you'll write 15 words. Some days you'll write 1,500. All of it needs to be good.
You'll work directly with the strategy, creative, and campaign teams to support influencer campaigns, build GBM's brand voice, create marketing collateral, and translate raw ideas into polished content. You'll also track trends, conduct hygiene checks on creator content, and contribute to brainstorms with culturally informed ideas.
You'll be judged on writing quality, versatility, cultural awareness, and ownership. If you can write a sharp Instagram caption and a researched article with equal skill, you'll convert to full-time. This is not a shadow internship.
What You'll Do
- The Virality (Social & Campaigns): Write Instagram captions, LinkedIn posts, and meme copy that stops the scroll. Draft campaign narratives, creator briefs, and short-form scripts for influencer content. Refine creator content for client presentations and approvals.
- The Authority (Long-Form): Research and write articles, blog posts, case studies, lead magnets, and ebooks. Create industry reports, whitepapers, and downloadable resources. Develop campaign summaries, performance reports, and pitch deck content.
- Content Operations: Own GBM's content calendar planning, writing, and scheduling. Track trends across Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, and Reddit to identify trending creators and cultural moments. Conduct hygiene checks on creator content to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and messaging. Support pitch decks, presentations, and client-facing documentation.
- Ghostwriting: Translate the Founders raw thoughts (voice notes, bullet points, rough drafts) into structured LinkedIn posts, blogs, and scripts. You'll need to capture a specific, authoritative voice centred around strategy, systems thinking, and agency operations whilst maintaining voice consistency and organising ideas into clear, engaging narratives.
- Ownership Milestone: By Day 60, you'll own one content vertical end-to-end: GBM's LinkedIn content, Instagram pillar, or campaign reporting documentation.
What You'll Learn
- How to write across formats without losing quality or voice
- Research-to-content workflow: from cultural signals to published posts
- Ghostwriting: capturing someone else's voice and structuring their ideas
- Campaign storytelling, meme marketing, and trend-led content strategy
- Content operations: planning, hygiene checks, tracking performance
- How agencies collaborate internally and communicate with brands
- Presentation-building, reporting, and client-facing documentation
