The Content Strategist is responsible for all copy produced for one or more brands, depending on the size. The person must be certain that all copy produced meets the standards set by the agency and the client, In addition, the person is hands-on, and does an appropriate proportion of writing as well.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with marketing and business objectives
- Conduct audience research, competitor analysis, and content audits
- Plan and manage content calendars across channels (blogs, social media, email, website, etc.)
- Collaborate with writers, designers, SEO specialists, and marketing teams
- Optimize content for SEO and performance (keywords, structure, readability)
- Analyze content performance using tools like Google Analytics and provide actionable insights
- Ensure brand consistency in tone, style, and messaging
- Manage content distribution and promotion strategies
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging content formats
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, or similar role
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Solid understanding of SEO, keyword research, and digital marketing
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
