ABOUT THE GLOBAL VOICE

The Global Voice is an independent media house, covering the world for a global English-speaking audience from an Indian perspective.

We built TGV because most global coverage of the world runs through a Western lens by default. We think India has a distinct, credible point of view on how the world works, and that view deserves a serious, well-reported publication, not just op-eds and hot takes. If that's a gap you've felt reading the news yourself, this is a newsroom built for you.

This is an in-office research and correspondent role. You will be producing a high volume of original articles, analysis pieces, and dispatches daily, across geopolitics, conflict, markets, technology, and culture.

This isn't a desk-only job. You'll also be on camera as part of our social and video content, breaking down stories in your own words, not just writing them. Your understanding of the subject and your voice as a writer and communicator are what make the output worth reading and watching.

We're open to two kinds of people for this role: working writers or journalists with a track record, and political science, international relations, economics, or related graduates, postgraduates, NET qualifiers, or PhDs who know their subject deeply and can write, even without a newsroom background.

JOB ROLE: International Affairs Correspondent

SALARY: 3.6 LPA

EXPERIENCE: 2–4 years (Not open to freshers)

Work from Office: 6 days from our Goa HQ

This role is not open to freshers directly. Every fresher joins through a 2-month paid internship first, with a scope to be converted to full-time based on performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Research and write original articles, analysis pieces, and newsletter content across geopolitics, conflict, markets, technology, and culture
• Cover all major regions including India, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania, with the Indian lens front and centre
• Go on camera for social media and video content, explaining and breaking down the stories you cover, not just writing about them
• Optimise every piece for Google search and how readers actually discover content. Content that nobody finds is content that does not exist.
• Pitch story ideas. You are expected to spot what is worth covering, not wait to be told.
• Meet daily deadlines, every day, without being followed up.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• At least 2 years of industry writing or journalism experience, or a postgraduate degree, NET qualification, or PhD in political science, international relations, economics, or a closely related field, paired with proof you can write
• You are an avid reader of serious international journalism and analysis. Not because your job requires it. Because you love it.
• You are genuinely passionate about current affairs, the kind of person who's already following the story before anyone assigns it to you
• You write in a real journalistic style, clean, direct, structured like a report, not like an essay
• You have a strong, distinct voice, and you're comfortable putting that voice on camera, not just on the page
• You know current affairs, world politics, markets, and history well enough to write about them with authority and a genuine point of view
• You can write multiple well-researched, well-written pieces in a day
• You have proof of work: published articles, newsletters, substacks, anything that shows you can write about complex subjects clearly
• You can join us in Goa immediately

WHO WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR

• People who are new to this kind of reporting. We need people who have proven work experience.
• People who summarise sources instead of understanding them
• People who need a lot of hand-holding to figure out what to write next
• People who treat deadlines as suggestions
• People uncomfortable being on camera

We will not use, edit, or publish any part of your submission. You're free to use it elsewhere.

Step 3: Interview with the Founder

If your assessment aligns with what we're looking for, you'll be invited to an interview with our founder. This is a conversation both ways: we'll discuss your work, your approach, and how you see yourself contributing to TGV, and you'll have the chance to ask us anything about the role, the team, and where we're headed.
