Roles & Responsibilities
The Model Preparation & Texturing Artist prepares product models to become
AI-ready Digital Twin assets that can be reused across large-scale content generation workflows. This role is responsible for transforming raw CAD and product design files into clean, optimized, visually accurate 3D assets with the right geometry, UVs, materials, metadata, and variant structure to support the overarching
AI content transformation program. These assets serve as the grounded product foundation for scalable content creation across e-commerce, retail, advertising, and digital experiences. The role ensures product models are not only visually correct, but also technically structured for downstream automation, rendering consistency, and multi-channel reuse.
Key Responsibilities
Import, clean, and prepare CAD models for Maya-based Digital Twin production workflows.
Resolve geometry issues such as topology errors, faceting, broken normals, unnecessary complexity, and model inconsistencies that could impact downstream rendering or AI-driven asset generation.
Create UV layouts and material assignments that are compatible with Substance, Maya, and Digital Twin workflows.
Apply, organize, and standardize materials to ensure consistent transfer between Maya, V-Ray, Substance, and downstream visualization environments.
Build and manage product variants, configuration logic, and asset organization so models can support large-scale automated content production across SKUs, colors, trims, and regional variations.
Ensure 3D assets are structured with the accuracy and consistency required to support grounded AI-generated imagery, product visualization, and digital commerce use cases.
Collaborate closely with Pipeline, Lighting, and Look Development teams to ensure assets meet technical, visual, and system-readiness standards.
Maintain asset hygiene, scene organization, and documentation practices that improve reuse, speed production, and reduce downstream manual rework.
Contribute to the evolution of Digital Twin asset standards that help scale content creation across product launches and ongoing content needs.
Key Qualifications
Experience in 3D modeling, asset preparation, and material/texturing workflows.
Strong skills in Maya modeling, scene organization, and production asset cleanup.
Experience working with CAD data, industrial design files, and product visualization assets.
Strong understanding of UV mapping, geometry optimization, topology cleanup, and material assignment.
Familiarity with V-Ray and Substance material workflows.
Ability to balance product realism, technical structure, and production efficiency.
Ability to create repeatable AI visual systems rather than one-off artistic setups.
Experience with product variants and structured asset preparation for scalable content pipelines is strongly preferred.
Understanding how high-quality, well-structured Digital Twin assets enable AI-assisted content generation and reduce downstream production errors is a strong plus.
