Job Title: Political Content Strategist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Political Content Strategist to lead the creation, execution, and optimization of content strategies for political campaigns, public affairs initiatives, and reputation management efforts. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in political campaigns and understands the fast-paced, high-stakes nature of political communication across digital and traditional platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute comprehensive content strategies aligned with campaign goals, voter segments, and messaging priorities
  • Translate political narratives, policy positions, and campaign themes into compelling content formats
  • Plan content calendars for multi-channel distribution (social media, speeches, press releases, email campaigns, websites)

2. Campaign Messaging

  • Craft clear, persuasive, and consistent messaging tailored to diverse audiences
  • Ensure message discipline across all communication channels
  • Collaborate with campaign leadership, speechwriters, and policy teams to maintain narrative alignment

3. Digital Content Creation

  • Oversee the creation of engaging digital content including social media posts, videos, graphics, blogs, and rapid-response materials
  • Optimize content for platform-specific performance (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, etc.)
  • Lead real-time content creation during events, debates, and breaking news cycles

4. Rapid Response & War Room Coordination

  • Monitor news cycles, opposition activity, and social media trends
  • Develop quick-turnaround content to respond to emerging issues or crises
  • Work closely with research and communications teams to counter misinformation and shape narratives

5. Audience Targeting & Data-Driven Insights

  • Use voter data, polling insights, and digital analytics to refine messaging strategies
  • Identify key audience segments and tailor content accordingly
  • Track and analyze content performance, adjusting strategies to maximize reach and engagement

6. Brand & Reputation Management

  • Build and maintain a strong, authentic public image for candidates or organizations
  • Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and visual identity
  • Manage online reputation and sentiment

7. Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work cross-functionally with digital teams, designers, videographers, media relations, and field teams
  • Manage content teams, agencies, or freelancers where applicable
  • Provide strategic guidance during campaign planning and execution phases

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Journalism, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3–7+ years of experience in political campaigns, public affairs, or advocacy communications
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful political or issue-based content strategies
  • Strong understanding of political landscapes, voter behavior, and media ecosystems
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in election campaigns (local, state, or national level)
  • Strong grasp of digital platforms, algorithms, and political advertising tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
