We are looking for an Accessibility-focused Content Specialist who can edit/rewrite content and remediate PDFs to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. The role requires hands-on experience with accessible document structure, plain language, and screen-reader compatibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Rewrite and edit content to meet WCAG readability and clarity standards
- Remediate PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Apply proper tags, headings, lists, tables, alt text
- Fix reading order, link text, form labels
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA / Section 508
- Test documents using NVDA / JAWS / PAC
- Collaborate with designers, QA, and product teams
- Maintain accessibility checklists and documentation
Must-Have Skills
- Strong English writing & editing
- Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 (1.3, 1.4, 2.4, 3.1)
- Hands-on PDF remediation experience
- Tools: Adobe Acrobat Pro, NVDA / JAWS
- Understanding of plain language standards
- Good to Have
- WCAG 2.2 exposure
- Experience with US / EU accessibility laws
- Accessibility audit or VPAT experience
