The opportunity
We are building Dodo into a media engine for builders. The place indie devs, SMB founders, and payments nerds come to learn, laugh, and steal ideas. Think Fireship's clarity, Stripe Press's taste, Supabase's meme fluency, Linear's writing bar, all pointed at the people shipping the next million products on the internet.
You will own the content engine end to end. Voice, cadence, story selection, what ships and what dies. This is not a comms or marketing seat. It is a creative producer seat with full ownership of what Dodo sounds like on the internet.
You'll work alongside a Video Editor and at least one founder who will be on camera. You'll report directly to the CEO.
What You Will Actually Do
Ship the weekly drumbeat: one long-form YouTube (10 to 20 min), one to two long blog posts, daily presence on X, four to five Shorts or Reels, plus reactive content when news, launches, or arguments warrant it.
Source the stories. Interview founders (ours and others), internal engineers, customers, the wider builder community. Extract the actual insight. Turn it into formats people consume.
Operate AI-native production loops. Claude for drafts, structure, and edits. Descript for video. ElevenLabs for voice. Opus Clip or Munch for short-form auto-cuts. Typefully for X. We fund the tools. You are expected to know what 3x faster looks like and how to get there.
Set the editorial bar. Decide what we publish. Decide what we don't. Most of the lift is in the second one.
Measure what works, kill what doesn't, double down where compounding shows up.
You probably look like one of these
A former DevRel or content lead at a developer-facing company (Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Mintlify, Clerk, Cal, Hasura, Razorpay, Postman, or similar) where you have been ghost-running the content engine.
A solo dev creator with 10k+ engaged subs or followers on YouTube, Substack, or X who wants the leverage of a real distribution stack and a salary instead of grinding ad revenue.
A technical writer or editor from The Pragmatic Engineer, The New Stack, InfoQ, or similar who wants to go in-house and operate inside the company instead of from the outside.
What We Look For
Technical literacy. You can read code well enough to interrogate an engineer, even if you do not ship code yourself.
Distribution intuition. You can articulate why one piece worked and another did not, in numbers and in narrative.
AI-native production habits. You are not waiting for someone to teach you the tools. You already run loops.
Taste. The single thing we cannot teach. Show it in the work.
Receipts. Three things you have made that built a real audience, with real analytics behind them. We will ask.
You are not the right fit if
You think AI-native means I'll prompt the model and ship the output.
You want a brand or PR seat. This role makes things; it does not manage agencies.
You need a 30-person team and an established voice handed to you. We are building both.
You think payments is boring. The most interesting infrastructure stories of the next decade are in payments. If you do not see that yet, this is not the role.
Compensation And Logistics
Competitive base plus meaningful equity.
On-site at our Bangalore office. Five days a week, in the room with founders and the rest of the content team. This role does not work remote.
Tooling stack, gear, and travel for shoots fully covered.
Direct line to founders. You drive the strategy and we get out of the way.
What We Want To See In Any Application
- Three pieces of content you made, with the analytics you are proud of (and ideally the analytics you are not).
- A short note on what you would ship in Dodo's first 30 days of content and why.
- Anything you have written, recorded, or built that signals taste.
Cover letters optional. Receipts not optional.
