Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Content Editor who is well-versed in the Tamil language to oversee the content for Dinamani. The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial background, excellent Tamil language proficiency, and a keen eye for detail. The Content Editor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of our published content.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Editing and Proofreading:

• Edit and proofread articles, news stories, and other content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
• Ensure that all content adheres to the publication's style guide and standards.
• Check for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.

Content Development:

• Collaborate with writers, reporters, and other editorial staff to develop high-quality content.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to writers to improve their work.

News Monitoring and Research:

• Stay updated with current events, news trends, and developments in Tamil-speaking regions.
• Conduct research to verify facts and ensure the credibility of the content.

Content Strategy:

• Assist in planning and developing the editorial calendar.
• Contribute to the development of content strategies to increase readership and engagement.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the editorial team, including reporters, photographers, and designers.
• Coordinate with the digital team to ensure content is effectively presented on online platforms.

Quality Control:

• Maintain high editorial standards and ensure that all published content meets the publication's quality benchmarks.
• Implement and uphold editorial policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Tamil Literature, or a related field.
• Proven experience in content editing, writing, or journalism, preferably with a Tamil publication.
• Exceptional proficiency in Tamil language, including grammar, spelling, and syntax.
• Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with digital content management systems and online publishing tools is a plus.
